Vintage yellow orange smalti

Description

A mix of orange yellow and ochre coloured smalti. Size approx 15mm x 10mm.

Please note, as these were pre loved from 1970s, some of the tesserae may have a little cement on them, hence the lower price.
Smalti is a beautiful hand made strong coloured mosaic glass, originally made for Byzantine mosaics for Mediterranean basilicas. It is still made today for modern mosaic art. Cuts easily with mosaic nippers.
