Terracotta red Venetian smalti.
Approx Size 2cm x 1cm and some smaller.

Smalti is a beautiful hand made strong coloured mosaic glass, originally made for Byzantine mosaics for Mediterranean basilicas. It is still made today for modern mosaic art. Cuts easily with mosaic nippers.
