Lime green smalti plate

Description

A half of a Venetian smalti plate or ‘pizza’. This is how the smalti starts, in a big pizza, the glass is melted in a furnace and brought out to cool on a tray. Made by hand in Venice. The pizza plates are then cut into smaller pieces.
6 – 7 mm thick. About 1 kg.
Cut into strips with a glass cutter and the use mosaic nippers or hammer and hardy.
