Hello. I get mine from Topps Tiles over here in UK , some DIY stores also have it. I find hardi-backer is a good one or wedi if you want light weight but use the latter over a wooden framework.

I read your Blurb book and my thoughts were just what you said, which I read after I looked through your book. “Often I plan my work as a sequence, to allow the flow of time and movement and this then leads to a stop-motion mosaic animation, allowing me to experiment and make the story come to life.” Perfect.
