Frozen in time
It isn’t long now before I have to get some new work finished for an exhibition at the Craft Gallery at the Dartington Cider Press Centre (famous for its Dartington Glass) . It has been a busy year with lions and workshops and the work I have been planning for this exhibition has had to be put on the back burner – so to speak (what a strange expression this is – I think for now it has now been “frozen in time”)
I have made progress with my mosaic that will be called “Chorus in the Wake of the Sun” (see post http://katerattray.wordpress.com/2009/12/07/and-now-to-something-more-serious/ ) and I would probably finish it in a couple of weeks, but I got thinking about it and realized that this piece will be the end of the story, and in the meantime I have been filling up my sketchbook with several ideas that lead eventually to this piece. So there isn’t the time to complete the whole series for March.
Instead I am working on three pieces that have to be made first and are a bit simpler to make so should be finished in time.
And for me the cold has been a good excuse to sit in the warmth of the house cutting pieces of tile. As having all the pieces ready means I can make another animation!
