Post Lion activities

I am having a “quiet “ week this week. Zillion is now prowling Kingsmead square with a painted lion called Uhuru. And now my workshed seems huge! I gave it a good clean up ready for my next project which I am now about one quarter of the way through. It is a commission for a customer. A 60 x 60 cm mosaic picture for a business man’s office wall. I was given the go ahead for the design several weeks ago in between working on Zillion. It is based on the backgrounds I used in my Guardian of the Sun series and made with the piastrina smalti. It is nice to sit at a chair once again instead of contorting into some uncomfortable positions to work on Zillion! So it seems like “quiet” work!

And talking of quiet – I took this video (shakes and most of the blurred bits are edited out) on Monday morning on the way home after dropping the kids at school . I couldn’t believe how close I could get to him. He was completely oblivious to me. If I had waited longer perhaps I would have seen him catch a fish ….
