Somerset Open Studios 2018

As I have been teaching mosaic workshops at the Heritage Courtyard Studios and Gallery in Wells, I was delighted when a small studio became vacant. This makes things a little easier when it comes to storing workshop materials and being able to show my work to students and collectors. I also work in it, the plan being that I use it for most of the “cleaner” work and especially for glass gilding. The “dirty” work will take place in my work shed with the spiders and the dust…

I’m able to get four people in the studio at a workshop and if there are more than that we can go into the gallery.

On nice days I might even walk across the fields to work. It’s about 4 miles (at least it is when I try and take short cuts and get lost!) It does mean I have to walk home too, but that’s ok, I love walking.

Here’s my journey last week to the studio.

The Lyatt

This is the third long field on the journey.

Kings Castle Wood

Along the lanes by Kings Castle Wood ( site of an ancient iron age hill fort)

Bull sculpture approaching Wells

Wells Cathedral

View of the cathedral (notice how it leans to one side? 😉 )

Along moat walk, the dragon mosaic I made with all those schools in 2001!

Bishops Palace, Wells
Wells Market

It’s market day!

Heritage Courtyard

Around the corner into Sadler Street, Heritage Courtyard is on the left about half way up the street.

Heritage Courtyard Studios and Gallery

I’m in here. There are 10 different artists who work here. (well not in my studio, that would be a squash!)

Here’s four students in my studio at my last mosaic workshop. Snug, cosy, and happy!

I also have work in the gallery.

Heritage Courtyard Studios and Gallery

We are open every day for Somerset Art Weeks Open Studios 2018 running from 15-30 September.

Come and see my latest work and find out about a new commission I’ll be working on.

I’ll be there most days but it’s best to contact me to check if you are coming a long way.

🙂
