A Union of Family Arms
For the last couple of months I have been working on a commission in the other hours between making new pieces of jewellery, Christmas craft markets, packaging sales online and celebrating. I was asked to make a mosaic for an outdoor wall based on my customer’s family and wife’s families coat of arms. He sent…

Egrets at Somerset Crafts Several months ago I joined Somerset Crafts – a group of artists who exhibit work in a gallery at Westhay on the Avalon Marshes in the Somerset Levels. Most of us are also members of the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen based at the Courthouse gallery in Somerton. We manage the gallery between…
Marble Mosaic Company and Ansar Mosaic
If you read my post The Enchanter, you will remember I used some beautiful vintage tiles in the work that were given to me by mosaicist, Elaine M Goodwin. They are lovely strong coloured thick glass tiles very similar to Italian piastrina smalti. Elaine told me she had purchased them from the Marble Mosaic Company…
Tree of Life at the RUH
This summer I was commissioned to make a “Tree of Life” mosaic to raise awareness of organ donation for the Royal United Hospital in Bath. When the organ donation hospital team were looking for inspiration for a tree of life, they found my Olive Tree on my website and got in touch. It was a…

Wow! Hi is such a handsome guy! I love the final video. I had guessed his name to be Zion so was wrong! You must be so proud and sad to have him go.
Thanks Sam – yes sorry to see him go , but at least I have a bit more room in my workshed!
Thank you for dropping by my blog and letting me know about the video. I’ve always admired mosaics, but have never seen one made, so the video was fascinating and fun. As it played, I couldn’t help thinking it was like a great big 3D puzzle and then I noticed the name of the music! I think Zillion is going to have loads of admirers. If you don’t mind I’d like to put a link in my blog to your post with the video on it. Congrats on a fantastic looking Lion.
Thanks Cheryl
