All the best with your exhibition Kate. Unfortunately I can’t make it, but would have loved to it looks like you have some gorgeous work as usual. I wonder if you could give some advice though. Who do you use for delivery of your mosaics as I have had a couple of bad experiences with couriers, could you recommend any companies who deliver glass safely?
Thanks for the compliments Elaine. Where I can I deliver work myself, or get friend or family to deliver. Otherwise in the UK I use parcel force. They have been fine, other than one time where I didn’t use a box. Packing is the key – picture corners (you can make them out of cardboard,) lots of bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard box. Make sure it the work fits snugly into the box. Then mark the box FRAGILE – PLEASE HANDLE WITH CARE in red marker pen. The package will be insured up to £200 I think, if its worth more you buy extra. I have looked at other couriers but a lot don’t even provide cover for art. Hope that helps 🙂
