Mosaic Mix Weekend

This weekend I am running a mosaic mix workshop.  I mentioned in a previous post that the aim of the course is to make a textural mosaic with a variety of mosaic materials.

Each student receives a 3 page ideas file   prior to the workshop. This is a photo of a small sample mosaic in the pack.

The mosaic is made of ceramic rounds, glass pieces, gold leaf glass, ceramic tile, slate and smalti. It was inspired by this photo I took of some tree bark:
